Work Location
This is a full-time, remote role based in the United States. Candidates located in the Eastern U.S. are strongly preferred. Some travel will be required.
Make an Impact at WGU
As a Lead Partnership Executive, you will play a critical role in advancing WGU’s mission by building enterprise-level partnerships that expand access to education and workforce solutions at scale. This role focuses on strategic business development, executive engagement, and national market growth while shaping how organizations invest in talent development.
What You’ll Do
Drive new enterprise partnerships aligned to WGU’s mission and strategic priorities
Lead consultative business development with C-suite leaders and national decision-makers
Design innovative proposals, campaigns, and workforce solutions that address large-scale talent needs
Represent WGU at major industry events, conferences, and partner councils
Coach and guide Account Executives and Senior Account Executives on enterprise sales best practices
Partner closely with Partner Success teams to ensure smooth handoffs and long-term partner outcomes
Contribute to national pipeline strategy, market expansion, and development of new verticals
What You’ll Bring
Expert-level consultative sales and partnership acquisition skills
Executive presence with the ability to influence senior leaders
Deep understanding of workforce development, higher education, and talent ecosystems
Proven ability to craft tailored value propositions that deliver measurable ROI
Strong commitment to student-centered outcomes
Bachelor’s degree
10 years of related experience, or 7 years of related experience with a Master’s degree
Bonus Points
Prior experience in the higher education sector
Extensive background in acquisition-focused roles
Demonstrated success building partnerships with large organizations (1,000+ employees)
Proven track record in enterprise sales or strategic partnerships across industries
Established professional network with strong industry credibility
Experience in Lieu of Education
Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this role may substitute for education requirements. Generally, one year of relevant experience may be considered in place of one year of education, at the discretion of the hiring manager.
