As a Software Engineer II, you will play a key role in building and maintaining systems that support student success. You will contribute to the design, development, and delivery of software solutions while collaborating with cross-functional partners to ensure reliable, scalable, and high-quality outcomes.
- Contribute to the design, development, testing, and implementation of software systems
- Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and project partners to deliver solutions aligned to requirements
- Translate functional and technical requirements into code and system designs
- Support troubleshooting and resolution of system issues to minimize downtime
- Participate in team knowledge sharing and continuous improvement efforts
- Maintain clear documentation and communicate project status and risks
- Ensure solutions meet quality, performance, and timeline expectations
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
- 3-5 years of experience developing web-based applications and web services using Java, REST, and related technologies
- 2 years of experience with Java (Spring or similar) and JavaScript frameworks such as Node.js, React, or Angular
- Experience interfacing with databases and integrating third-party systems
- Understanding of software development processes including coding, testing, and system design
- Ability to design scalable, reliable systems and interpret technical requirements into solutions
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
- Experience with Agile or Scrum development practices
- Familiarity with tools such as IntelliJ, VS Code, JIRA, and Git
- Experience with cloud-native development or migrating applications to cloud environments
Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education at the discretion of the hiring manager.

This is a full-time, in-office position requiring five days per week in our Salt Lake City, UT office, designed to foster the collaboration and connection that fuel our best work.
This position requires occasional travel of up to 20%, including required attendance at designated company summits (typically one to two per year). Additional travel may include conferences, visits to company locations, and other business-related events as needed. Additional travel may be assigned as needed to support business requirements.
